On the ocean floor exists an ecosystem composed of various microorganisms: phytoplankton. The symbiotic interplay of this ecosystem can be viewed in its entirety as a superorganism (holobiont). Just as every body of water has its own unique flora, every person possesses a unique skin flora made of bacteria—the microbiome.
Much like a fingerprint, everyone's microbiome is different, whether in the gut or on the skin. The composition of the microbiome determines the skin's defensive strength, its condition, and even its hydration levels.
This is why holobiotics represent a newer approach to skincare—by promoting beneficial bacteria, the balance of the microbiome is shifted in a positive direction, and pathogenic and pro-inflammatory bacteria are minimized. In this way, skin condition is improved indirectly, with a specific focus on counteracting blemishes.
Holobiotik contains the valuable extract of the plankton holobiont in microencapsulated form. This makes it water-soluble, easy to use, and even more bioavailable. It is the ideal active ingredient for blemished skin, as it prevents pimples and inflammation while also promoting healing and regeneration following acne. The skin recovers more quickly, and scarring is prevented during the skin's repair process.
At the same time, the plankton extract in Holobiotik contains valuable oligosaccharides (complex sugars) which have a smoothing and pore-refining effect and protect the skin from moisture loss. Antioxidant substances such as vitamins, proteins, and polyphenols exert a postbiotic effect and regulate sebum production and the skin's pH value. Consequently, Holobiotik is also a perfect active ingredient for oily skin and, with regular use, provides a lasting reduction in excess sebum and oily shine. It is also an interesting active ingredient for holistic anti-aging products.
Holobiotik is also highly effective for the scalp. Here, too, it reduces sebum production, promotes good bacteria, and displaces unfavorable microorganisms. Through these dual effects, it effectively prevents dandruff over the long term. Simultaneously, it prevents a dry scalp, which can also be a trigger for dandruff.
