Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body and is classified as a structural protein. The term is best known in connection with our skin, but it also plays an important role in connective tissue, bones, and joints. Important: There is no such thing as plant-based collagen, and real collagen found on the market in cosmetics and supplements is always of animal origin.
