BehenActiv is an exotic oil extracted from the seeds of the Pracaxi tree, which is native to the tropical regions of the Amazon. What makes it so extraordinary is its high content of approximately 20% long-chain behenic acid (C22), a rare fatty acid that is not found in this high concentration in any other plant oil. BehenActiv is a special variety of this valuable oil with an outstanding proportion of behenic acid. Consequently, it is viscous to buttery at room temperature. This unique composition gives the oil properties that make it a valuable ingredient in both skin and hair care.

Skin care:

BehenActiv strengthens the natural skin barrier and forms a protective film that locks moisture into the skin and protects it from environmental influences. Despite its rich, buttery texture, BehenActiv feels surprisingly light on the skin and leaves no greasy film, but rather a strongly enveloping, smooth skin feel. This also makes it very pleasant in body and hand care products.

One of the outstanding properties of BehenActiv is its proven skin-brightening effect, as it reduces the melanin content in the skin. This property makes it particularly interesting for products designed to promote an even and radiant complexion.

Furthermore, it promotes the production of the skin's own collagen and glycosaminoglycans, thereby supporting the density and thickness of the skin as well as its elasticity and resistance.

BehenActiv is an effective and natural anti-aging active ingredient that brightens the skin without irritating it. On the contrary, it actually protects and strengthens the skin, making it highly suitable even for sensitive skin. In tests, it has been used in anti-aging products at 3%.

BehenActiv is a highly effective, natural conditioning oil that, thanks to the long-chain structure of behenic acid, effectively coats, smooths, and protects the hair cuticle. In fact, many conditioner active ingredients are based on long-chain esters, making Pracaxi oil a logical active ingredient in hair care. Its conditioning effect is so strong that it is comparable to synthetic conditioners – and in a natural way.

It gives hair shine and suppleness and helps to improve and maintain the hair structure over the long term. BehenActiv unfolds its full potential especially in products for stressed, damaged, or dry hair. It can be very easily incorporated into conditioners, hair masks, hair oils, and solid shampoos.
