Characteristics

An oil-soluble, plant-based active ingredient for immediate hydration, cellular protection, and defense against sun-induced skin aging.

Golden seaweed (Laminaria Ochroleuca) grows in shallow seawater and is exposed to intense stressors such as high salinity, high solar radiation, and fluctuating water levels. Constant exposure to air and water causes this special brown algae to produce unique metabolites that protect it from UV radiation and dehydration.

We can harness these properties for our own skincare. Antileukine 6 reduces UV-induced DNA damage - the #1 cause of skin aging. It can also reduce skin redness and the number of sunburn cells, which are primarily caused by UVB radiation. Furthermore, it has a soothing effect on the skin and combats inflammatory processes. It is therefore an excellent active ingredient for sun protection formulations and day creams (though it does not provide an SPF!). In after-sun products, it is recommended as a regenerating active ingredient.

In anti-aging products, Antileukine 6 is characterized by its immediate moisturizing effect as well as its anti-wrinkle properties (with regular use).

It is an oily extract of golden seaweed, dissolved in MCT oil made from sustainably produced palm oil (RSPO certified). It is almost colorless and odorless and can be easily incorporated into emulsions and oily products (e.g., facial oil or lip balms). Furthermore, it is approved for certified natural cosmetics.

Usage concentration and processing

• 2 % in emulsions and anhydrous products

• Stir or homogenize into the product at the end (preferably below 40 degrees).

• It is also possible to briefly heat Antileukine 6 in the oil phase if necessary (e.g., in balms and lipsticks)
