The versatile and popular neutral oil of regional origin!

MCT stands for "medium-chain triglycerides," meaning fatty acids of medium length, present as triglycerides (= glycerin + 3 fatty acids). Almost all plant and animal fats are triglycerides. Shorter-chain fatty acids in the C8 - C14 range are actually only found in significant quantities in coconut and palm kernel oil. MCT oil (often called neutral oil) contains only the shorter-chain fractions (caprylic and capric acid) of these oils, making it correspondingly thin and light; it is a widely used and popular oil in many cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

MCT-9 is an excellent, regional alternative to conventional MCT oil of tropical origin. It consists of pure triglycerides that contain rare pelargonic acid. With a chain length of 9 carbon atoms, this sits exactly between caprylic and capric acid and therefore exhibits almost identical properties to neutral oil.

MCT-9 is actually a little lighter on the skin and absorbs faster. Otherwise, it can replace neutral oil 1:1. It is a versatile, highly tolerable, and stable base oil. It counts as a medium spreader and can be mixed excellently with other oils. It feels light on the skin and leaves an elegant, delicately lipid-replenishing sensation that disappears after a few minutes. The skin feels nourished, soft, and tenderly cared for - without appearing greasy. It is optimally suited for medium and dry skin, but can be used in oil blends for all skin types.

It is also a perfect base oil for body oils and body lotions, as it is easy to apply and has a light feel—but is not too light, and provides gentle care for the skin. Due to its balanced profile, MCT-9 can be used well as the sole oil component in a product!

Furthermore, MCT-9 has a delicately floral natural scent. This is not overly intrusive but can come through in the final product and even support or round off some perfume blends.
