Characteristics

A delicately melting vegetable wax butter with special melting behavior and a surprisingly light skin feel

Vegemelt is a vegetable butter based on partially hydrogenated rapeseed oil (palm oil-free and regional). Due to its characteristic melting point, which is just above skin temperature, Vegemelt only begins to melt when applied to the skin. This is perceived as particularly creamy and pleasant in cosmetic products such as emulsions and body butters.

This property is also positively noticeable in stick products and optimizes their application. Deodorant and lip sticks only melt during application and are easily distributed on the skin - without much friction or a dull feeling. The stick itself, however, remains consistent and firm.

Compared to liquid vegetable oils, Vegemelt feels less oily and "dries" faster on the skin. Compared to vegetable butters (e.g., shea butter), it feels creamier, less dull, and not as heavy on the skin. Because of this unique profile, Vegemelt is also perfectly combinable with all types of oils, esters, butters, and waxes. Vegemelt can usefully supplement any lipid phase of a cosmetic product and enables entirely new product experiences!

Tip: When processing, keep in mind that (as with vegetable butters) slow cooling of the melted raw material can lead to recrystallization of the solid components in the fat. This leads to unpleasant "grittiness" in the product. You can prevent this by constant stirring during the cooling process and by combining it with consistency agents, waxes, or Waxblend Hydrosoft.

Usage concentration and processing

• 1 - 100% in all types of products (emulsions and anhydrous products)

• melt in the fat phase (at 36 - 39 degrees Celsius).
