Emulwax Rice is a non-ionic emulsifier made from rice oil fatty acids, glycerin, and the amino acid arginine. It is natural and, unlike most O/W emulsifiers, contains no palm oil. For this reason, it also contains a proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, which are characterized by a special skin feel - initially rich and nourishing - but shortly after, surprisingly light and well-absorbing. Furthermore, the fatty acids lend the skin their nourishing and moisturizing properties and are well tolerated even by sensitive skin types. Emulsions with Emulwax Rice are also easy to spread on the skin.

Emulwax Rice is not an emulsifier blend (main emulsifier + co-emulsifier + consistency agent), but a highly effective emulsifying molecule in itself. It possesses good emulsifying and stabilizing power and creates creamy emulsions entirely without the need for additional consistency agents.

Used alone, at higher usage concentrations and a higher oil phase, rich creams can be created that absorb well and do not feel greasy or oily. At lower usage concentrations and a higher water phase, surprisingly fresh textures can be realized that have a strongly hydrating effect upon application and absorb quickly, while still leaving a light protective film on the skin - for example, great in body lotions!

Nevertheless, it is possible and useful to combine it with other co-emulsifiers or consistency agents. In this way, lighter, richer, or highly viscous emulsions can be created that can easily be adapted for face, body, or hand products.

 

Create your own emulsifier blend with Emulwax Rice:

Emulwax Rice + Fatty Alcohol - high viscosity and matte-enveloping skin feel (e.g., 4:1 or 3:1)

Emulwax Rice + Glyceryl Stearate - high viscosity and moist skin feel (e.g., 4:1, 3:1 or 2:1)

Emulwax Rice + Fatty Alcohol + Glyceryl Stearate - highest viscosity and nourished skin feel (e.g., 4:1:1 or 3:1:1)

Emulwax Rice + Montanov 14 - high viscosity and silky-fresh skin feel (e.g., 2:1 or 1:1)

Among the fatty alcohols, Cetearyl Alcohol produces creamier and more substantial textures, while Behenyl Alcohol feels less rich but leads to stiffer emulsions. Montanov 14 is particularly suitable for feather-light creams or body lotions. Glyceryl stearate complements Emulwax Rice whenever more richness is required. For even more richness and an extra-soft care feel, Waxblend Hydrosoft is suitable, as always.
