Compared to essential oils, fragrance oils are usually less volatile and ensure a long-lasting scent in the final product and on the skin. However, this still depends heavily on the fragrance components used. The top note is the first note perceived, but it also evaporates the fastest. In contrast, the base note is the heaviest, sometimes only an undertone, but it lasts the longest. The heart note is the actual theme of the perfume and has medium longevity.
