Characteristics

The brown seaweed "Alaria Esculenta" is a flexible algae that withstands the waves in the Breton sea due to its flexible structure without breaking. The long leaves of the algae are composed of elastic structures of proteins and special polysaccharides, which Kalpariane utilizes as an active ingredient for the skin.

It influences cell architecture and has a positive effect on the elasticity and density of the skin, making it the product of choice for the care and prevention of stretch marks and scars, for firming and tightening products, and generally making a valuable contribution to anti-aging.

Kalpariane exhibits the following modes of action:

• stimulates the production of collagen
• stimulates the production of proteoglycans and glycosaminoglycans (e.g., hyaluronic acid)
• stimulates the production of ATP in the mitochondria, thus improving cellular energy
  
• reduces the effect of structural degradation enzymes collagenase and elastase
• has a strong antioxidant effect and fights free radicals

Due to these diverse effects, Kalpariane acts overall as a densifying, firming, moisturizing, revitalizing, tightening, and plumping agent.

Kalpariane is an oily extract in Mass Balance (MB) MCT oil and also contains valuable oil-soluble nutrients for the skin such as Vitamin E, sterols, and glycolipids. It can be easily incorporated into emulsions and skincare oils.

With regular use, it increases the elasticity and softness of the skin and restructures the tissue. This is a crucial factor in the care of stretch marks and scars, which are nothing other than improperly formed tissue structures. We recommend using it in combination with emollient lipids such as Hydromollient, Squalane, or Lipoblend Hydrosoft.

Usage concentration and processing

• 1 % in emulsions and anhydrous products
• Stir or homogenize into the product at the end (preferably below 40 degrees).
• However, it is also possible to heat Kalpariane briefly in the fat phase if necessary (e.g., in balms and lipsticks)
