A sophisticated, ready-to-use emulsifier blend for hair care products with optimized performance and high environmental compatibility.

The surface of human hair is negatively charged (anionic). This charge is further intensified by washing, static electricity from friction (e.g., while combing), or permanent hair damage, which leads to "flyaway" hair. Hair conditioners usually contain cationic (positively charged) surfactants—so-called "quats." Like a magnet, these can adhere to the hair surface and coat the hair with a protective film. This neutralizes the negative charge and has an antistatic effect. The hair surface is smoothed, combability is improved, shine is increased, and the hair is kept in good, supple condition overall. This helps prevent hair breakage and split ends and preserves hair color for longer. Unfortunately, conventional quats are often poorly biodegradable, toxic to aquatic organisms, and can also be skin-irritating.

Careblend Supreme contains a special combination of two skin-friendly quats with different properties, as well as fatty alcohols, which complement each other in an outstanding, synergistic way. The ingredients have a high proportion of plant-based origins, are not aquatoxic, and are easily biodegradable. Furthermore, tests have shown that the performance of Careblend Supreme is clearly superior to that of classic standard quats (Behentrimonium Chloride or Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine).

• Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine - Consists of a fatty acid derived from rapeseed oil that provides a strong conditioning effect to the hair and possesses good antistatic properties (acts against "flyaway hair")

• Dipalmitoylethyl Hydroxyethylmonium Methosulfate - offers superior combability properties compared to standard quats

• Cetearyl Alcohol - gives the product a creamy consistency, serves as a product base, and enhances the conditioning effect of the 2 quats

Careblend Supreme contains approximately one-third active substance and one-third fatty alcohols, as well as lactic acid, which lowers the pH value of the product. A slightly acidic pH value is important in hair care products because it closes the hair cuticle and keeps it protected.

Recommended concentration and processing

• 1 - 2.5% in leave-in products (e.g., hair serums)

• 3 - 5% in conditioners (e.g., creamy rinses)

• 6 - 12% in intensive treatments (e.g., hair masks)

• Melt in the water phase - ideally at approx. 75 degrees - but can also be processed at lower temperatures - then oils and lipids can be added and emulsified

• The pH value of hair care products should ultimately be between 3.5 and 4.5. For heavily chemically treated hair, it should even be between 3 - 3.5.

• Do not combine with anionic substances! These would neutralize the effect and the final product may become unstable. Examples of anionic ingredients would be surfactants such as glutamates, sulfates, isethionates, and soaps. Gel formers like xanthan and carrageenan. Minerals such as NaOH or table salt. Jojoba ester gel is also anionic!

• However, it is practically possible to add Careblend Supreme in small concentrations to solid hair shampoos

• At concentrations below 2.5%, an additional consistency agent (various fatty alcohols, Montanov 14, or Instabond Velvet) is recommended

• At concentrations above 10%, a liquefying additive can be added (such as Lauryl Glucoside, Glyceryl Caprylate, or Pentylene Glycol) - facilitates processing
