A fresh, citrus-scented, 100% essential oil obtained through steam distillation

Lemongrass oil is a very intensely scented oil and should be used sparingly in cosmetic products. It is obtained by steam distillation from lemongrass and is therefore not classified as a citrus oil. As it has a much stronger and longer-lasting scent compared to citrus oils, it is frequently used in soaps - citrus oils are very volatile. Due to its high citral (approx. 70%) and myrcene (approx. 20%) content, it is effective against bacteria and viruses, but above all against fungi (mold) and insects. It is therefore an essential oil that can also be effectively used to support surface disinfectants (e.g., in the bathroom).
