Characteristics
This sodium bicarbonate is not synthetically manufactured, but is extracted from deposits of mineralized sodium bicarbonate (nahcolite) without chemicals in a simple water-based process.
In cosmetics, it is primarily used to adjust the pH value in aqueous products. However, this natural grade comes in a very fine crystal form and is therefore perfect for cream deodorants and deodorant sticks, as it feels gently powdery and is not at all scratchy on the skin. Furthermore, it is more easily water-soluble than conventional grades and leaves no insoluble residues. This makes it easy to process as an additive or base for alkaline bath additives.
In cosmetics, sodium bicarbonate is primarily used to adjust the pH value in aqueous products.
Usage concentration and processing
- 3 - 10% as an active ingredient in deodorant products
- as needed in all types of water-based products
- dissolve in water - e.g., prepare a 25% solution and add dropwise
