Hand Balm "Protection"

This special hand balm contains a high moisture content, a low amount of oil, and a high proportion of wax. It quickly forms a protective, non-greasy film that shields the skin from external stressors such as frequent washing or irritants.

Careblend Supreme creates a well-adhering, protective texture thanks to its cationic properties. Hydrolyzed sunflower wax and SoftEster form a flexible film that protects the skin like an invisible shield. 

Hydromollient and Waxblend Hydrosoft ensure a soft skin feel and have a moisture-binding effect. Niacinamide provides lasting reinforcement of the skin barrier by stimulating the body's own ceramide synthesis.

Instructions

Weigh out A1 and stir.

Weigh out A2 and stir.

Add A3.

Heat phase A to approx. 70°C and stir repeatedly until everything has melted.

Weigh out phase B and heat to approx. 70°C until everything has melted.

Add B to A, stir in, and homogenize for 30 seconds (avoid air bubbles).

Cool down to 40°C while stirring occasionally.

Add C and stir in.

Homogenize briefly once more (avoid air bubbles).

Adjust the pH value to approx. 5.2.

TIP:

When cooling down, ensure the emulsion does not cool too quickly and stir it frequently. Especially when the fat phase consists of a high proportion of consistency agents and waxes, you should not cool it in a cold water bath, otherwise the waxes may crystallize at the edge of the beaker. As the emulsion gains consistency, avoid using a mixer to incorporate air, as it cannot be removed afterwards.
