This solid shower gel is simply a dream: it is easy to make, requires only a few ingredients, and produces a creamy, nourishing lather that has a slightly superfatting effect.
The "Basic" Shower/Body Bar is one of four recipes from our DIY Skin and Hair Care Set. Our DIY sets contain selected, high-quality raw materials and, thanks to step-by-step instructions, are also perfect for beginners.
Difficulty: ⭐ easy
Preparation time: ⏱ approx. 30 minutes
Ingredients in grams (for 4 shower bars of 50 g each)
| A1 | 40 g | Cocoa Butter |
|---|---|---|
| A2 | 30 g | Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate |
| 10 g | Jojoba Ester Gel | |
| B | 120 g | Sodium Coco-Sulfate |
Instructions
- Gently melt the cocoa butter (A1) at a low temperature (e.g., directly in a beaker or pot).
- Add A2 directly to the melted cocoa butter and leave the mixture on the stovetop at a medium temperature.
- Stir thoroughly until a homogeneous mixture is formed; increase the temperature if necessary.
- Remove your container from the stovetop, weigh out the Sodium Coco-Sulfate (B), and add it to A1/A2. If you like, you can now optionally add fragrances, colors, and active ingredients.
- Knead the soft, warm mixture by hand or machine for a few minutes. While kneading, the mixture will slowly cool down and become firmer. Knead until a doughy, uniform mass (similar to shortcrust pastry) is formed.
- Now shape into bars or fill into a mold.
- After a few days, the bars will be firm and ready to give as a gift or use yourself.
Tip
To shorten the kneading time, you can pulverize the Sodium Coco-Sulfate in a kitchen blender beforehand (make sure you do not inhale the resulting dust by protecting yourself with a face mask, for example).
