It is effective against bacteria and highly effective against yeasts and molds. In aqueous systems (toners, micellar waters, sprays, etc.), surfactant formulations (shampoos, shower gels, etc.), as well as in water-in-oil emulsions, it is sufficient as a stand-alone preservative. In oil-in-water emulsions, we recommend the simultaneous use of a surface-active substance to optimize the effect against bacteria. Suitable substances for this include glycols such as \u003ca title=\"Pentylenglykol green\" href=\"https:\/\/innometiko.shop\/products\/pentylenglykol-green\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePentylene Glycol\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e or Butylene Glycol, or even Glyceryl Caprylate. Propanediol also has a moderate boosting effect when used in sufficient quantities.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo ensure preservative performance, the pH value of the final product must be in the slightly acidic range or lower—that is, below 6, preferably below 5.5.
